The Henry George Stroy

December 7, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

free event

150 years ago, the progressive economist Henry George asked a simple yet powerful question: why do the poor get poorer as society gets wealthier? His answer—land, and more broadly, rents—made him one of the most popular writers of his time, and Georgism left a strong influence on everyone from MLK to Willie Brown to Milton Friedman (seriously). Join Stanford radio host Mark Mollineaux as we discuss how Henry George can help us understand California’s housing crisis as it unfolds today.
